My Experience...

Many of us find ourselves deviating from our original plans as kids, most especially when we find ourselves in a foreign country. I came to Houston TX from the UK after an MBA from the University of Liverpool. Like everyone else, I came to realize the American dream. Little did I know that it took more than just a good educational background and some relevant work experience from another country to realize this dream. From being a security guard to a valet, gave me a humbling experience. This did not deviate me from my dreams. I remember the first time I walked into my current job all I wanted was to work in an office, did not care if it paid much. I knew I had what it took to rise to whatever heights I set for myself. The rest is history..

A lot of us find ourselves in various industries that we know little or nothing about. Some of us are fortunate to land our dream jobs when we arrive in a different country, a whole lot of us are not that fortunate. Some of us invest in a business because we see other people get large returns on their investments from such enterprise not considering the technicalities and the capacity needed to be successful in building a successful business.
I decided to create this blog for a purpose which is sharing information about the Home Health industry in Texas. In recent times, the Federal and State government has developed very strict measures in managing and monitoring the activities of home health agencies. This has led to the retrieval of home health licenses making small business owners in the industry close shop. My 3 year experience in this industry is that a whole lot of us scramble for information on various issues spanning from Surveys, Compliance, Billing, Staffing, etc. My intention is to create a platform where different home health employees and owners can come together and share relevant information. An example is where someone just finished going through a survey and noticed that new compliance measures has been introduced in areas of billing, can share that experience and someone somewhere can learn from it.

I recently met with a lady who had problems billing HMO/Medicare Skilled Nursing claims. I know someone somewhere would have gone through that experience and solved it. I went online to seek information on the billing procedures and got no information. My aim is to ensure that this platform will enable us share our experiences on various issues we go through in our daily operations.

I look forward to candid and relevant responses :)
